X Factor contestants record first single

Dec 28 2006




Peter Collins, South Wales Echo


South Wales record producer Danny Chang has teamed up with X Factor contestants The Unconventionals to chase chart success.

The Penarth- based producer contacted the band - the first act to be voted off in the public voting - after seeing them on the show.

They recorded their first single together, Strawberry Sunshine, at Danny's studio in Penarth last week.

It is set for release in May.

The very, very, best of luck to the Unconventionals for the release of the single in May - I look forward to it - well done!!
BTW Does anybody know anything about the Strawberry Sunshine?? - I believe I read somewhere that it was originally recorded in the 60's??? Can anybody elaborate?? I personally have not heard of it before!!
I also look forward to the release of an album, and if not asking too much - I would love Drew to release a solo album. (Maybe a future project for the lovely Drew??)
I would like to wish the Unconventionals a very, succesful 2007, and look forward to hearing much more of them in the very near future!!
Best of luck again with the single!!
